The Land Registry is a central record of information relating to land ownership. Registering land ownership became compulsory at different times throughout the country you can check whether it your property has been registered by visiting land registry online.
If your property is not registered then the HIP must contain an evidence of title e.g. property deeds and a certificate from the land registry to show it is not registered. An extra charge is made for the solicitors fees to collate this.
